“We're really happy with how our backyard turned out. We wanted something clean and modern but still low maintenance, and Chris nailed it. The pergola and shade sail make a huge difference, especially with the Arizona sun, and the pavers and turf came out exactly how we pictured.”

Project Types
Common Concrete Slab Projects We Handle
Patio slabs, patio extensions, driveway extensions, walkways, side-yard concrete, and steps across the Phoenix metro.

Patio Slabs
New concrete patio pours — broom-finished or smooth, sized to your layout, properly sloped for drainage. Most patio slabs we pour are 4" thick.

Patio Extensions
Adding square footage to an existing patio. We assess the existing slab, match thickness and base prep, and form the new section so the transition is clean.

Driveway Extensions
Widening or extending an existing driveway. We match thickness and finish to the existing pour where possible and handle proper base compaction.

Walkways
Concrete entry walkways and backyard paths. We form the run, slope it for drainage, and finish it to match the surrounding hardscape.

Side-Yard Concrete
Side-yard utility runs, narrow concrete pads, and access areas along the home. Clean forming and a finish that holds up in Arizona conditions.

Steps & Transitions
Concrete steps, landing pads, and level transitions — typically poured as part of a larger concrete project on the same property.

Concrete Slab Pricing & Project Fit
Most concrete slab projects we take on start around $4,500 and scale with size, thickness, reinforcement, and site conditions. Here's a general breakdown.
- Below LandUp’s project minimumTiny pads, minor patch work, and small crack repair: Usually not a fitThese are typically below our project minimum. If you need a small repair, a concrete repair specialist is usually a better option.
- Standard concrete projects — patio slabs, patio extensions, walkways, driveway extensions, side-yard concrete: Usually starts around $4,500+Final price depends on square footage, access, thickness, whether existing concrete needs demo, drainage, forming, and site prep required.
- Larger or multi-area pours — bigger driveway extensions, long walkways, oversized patio slabs, or multiple areas on the same property: Often $8,000–$18,000+Scope, square footage, access, and the amount of site prep and demo required drive the number on larger projects.
- Multiple concrete areas on the same property: Project-scopedPatio extension + walkway, driveway extension + side-yard concrete, steps + walkway — pouring multiple areas in one visit keeps the scope clean and saves mobilization cost.

Questions
Concrete Slab Installation — Common Questions
How much does concrete installation cost in Phoenix, AZ?
For patio slabs, patio extensions, driveway extensions, walkways, and side-yard concrete in the Phoenix metro, most projects start around $4,500 and scale from there based on square footage, thickness, site prep required, access, and whether existing concrete needs to be removed first. Multi-area pours and larger projects typically run $8,000–$18,000+. We give free written estimates — you'll know the number before anything is scheduled.
What size concrete project is the right fit for LandUp?
We focus on concrete that warrants a professional pour crew and proper site prep — patio slabs, patio extensions, driveway extensions, walkways, and side-yard concrete. Small single pads and minor patch work are typically below our project minimum. If you're not sure whether your project is a fit, give us a call or send us the details and we'll be straight with you.
Can you pour patio extensions or driveway extensions?
Yes — extensions are some of the most common concrete work we do. We assess the existing slab, match thickness and base prep to what's already there, and form and pour the new section cleanly. Control joints are placed at the transition to manage cracking at the seam.
Do you remove old concrete before pouring new?
Yes, when the job calls for it. If existing concrete needs to come out — because it's cracked through, out of level, or in the way of the new layout — we handle demo and haul-off as part of the project. Demo is quoted separately since it adds equipment, time, and disposal cost. If the existing slab is solid and we're extending off it, we assess whether it's stable enough to tie in cleanly.
How do you prevent concrete from cracking?
Cracking is managed, not eliminated — the goal is to control where and how it happens. We compact and prepare the base before every pour, use the right mix for the slab's use and thickness, add wire mesh or rebar reinforcement where appropriate, and cut control joints at the correct spacing so the concrete cracks in planned locations and out of sight. Arizona expansive soil and summer heat are real factors — we account for both in how we form and finish each slab.
How long does a concrete project take?
Most pours — a patio slab, walkway, or driveway extension — are formed, poured, and finished in one day. Larger or multi-area projects may take two days. After the pour, light foot traffic is safe in 24–48 hours. We recommend keeping vehicles off for at least 7 days. Full strength develops over a 28-day cure cycle — we'll give you specific guidance after your pour.
